Er erhielt seine professionelle Ausbildung in München bei Jutta Röthel\, an der Akademie der Künste in Amsterdam und an der Alvin Ailey School in New York.\n\nEr war als Solist bei Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal\, beim Ballett Augsburg sowie in der Tanzkompanie des Staatstheaters am Gärtnerplatz engagiert. Zudem war er Gastkünstler beim Béjart Ballet Lausanne. Er arbeitete mit zahlreichen Choreografen\, darunter Philip Taylor\, Blanca Li\, Carolyn Carlson\, Cayetano Soto\, Davide Bombana\, Christian Spuck\, Caroline Finn\, Aszure Barton und Crystal Pite. Darüber hinaus trat er in Stücken von Jiří Kylián\, Nacho Duato und Mauro Bigonzetti auf und war choreografischer Assistent für die Premiere von Davide Bombanas Mare Nostrum beim National Ballett in Sarajevo.\n\nZu seiner Musical-Laufbahn zählen die Produktionen 42nd Street\, Copacabana\, My Fair Lady\, Der Fiedler auf dem Dach\, Marilyn\, La Cage aux Folles\, Cats\, Cabaret\, Anything Goes\, Bodyguard\, Priscilla – Königin der Wüste und der Originalproduktion von Chicago in Deutschland sowie in Dänemark und Frankreich als “Spirit of Fosse” und als Assistant Dance Captain. Zudem war er als Resident Director bei der Europatournee von Flashdance tätig.\n\n\nAlex entdeckte schon in jungen Jahren eine große Leidenschaft für Choreographie und kreierte Tanzstücke während seiner gesamten Bühnenkarriere. Seine Choreographien wurden von der Tanzkompanie des Gärtnerplatz Theaters\, dem Augsburger Ballett und dem Geraldine Armstrong Dance Ensemble in Paris aufgeführt. In London hat er für das WAC Performing Arts College das Musical Once on This Islandchoreografiert. Er schuf Stücke für die Tanzakademie Bielefeld\, die Abraxas Musical Academy und die Theaterakademie August Everding in München. Zudem studierte er Ann Reinkings Original Choreographie des Musicals Chicago für den Studiengang Musical von Les Cours Florent in Paris ein.\n\nSeit 2000 unterrichtet er und als Gastlehrer bei verschiedenen Workshops wie Dance World Cup Spain\, Tanz Bozen\, Dance Workshop Paris\, beim Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin und an diversen Instituten\, u.a. Tring Park School for the Performing Arts und an der Theaterakademie August Everding – Studiengang Musical.\n\nSeit der Spielzeit 2020/2021 gehört er dem Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz als choreografischer Mitarbeiter und Probenleiter an. 2021 schloss Alex sein Masterstudium in Opernregie an der Accademia dell’Opera di Verona ab. Kurz darauf assistierte er dem Bühnenregisseur und Staatsintendant Josef E. Köpplinger bei seiner Inszenierung von Die Fledermaus am Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florenz und am Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.\n\nAls Choreograf entwickelte er u. a. die Musicals Die kleine Meerjungfrau am Theater in Kempten\, Next to Normal und La Cage Aux Folles an den Bühnen Bern\, die Oper Die Lustigen Weiber Von Windsor sowie die neue Operette Oh! Now in its 27th year\, the company has produced and performed an array of Jazz Dance\, Music Theatre production ns and repertoire that continues to raise the plaKorm for the Art form of Jazz Theatre. Through the company and her freelance engagements. Dollie’s creative works continue to be commissioned and performed by dance companies\, dance artists and within theatre venues worldwide.\nDollie’s creative and educational reputation is widely revered and respected\, alongside her breadth of work ranging from – Director/Choreographer and Movement Director on West End Theatre Productions\, Theatre Plays\, Films\, TV to Concert Dance\, Jazz Theatre productions and Dance Theatre Productions.\nDollie holds the position of Jazz Lecturer/Choreographer at Trinity Laban Conservatoire\, Mountview Arts\, PPA Academy Guildford & ICT Theatre Brighton and is Associate Member of ISTD and Honorary Member of IDTA. Her other roles as a creative professional include\, Patron of IDTA\, The Hammond School and Ignite Dance Company. As a creative mentor\, Dollie is instrumental in developing and steering the careers of many dancers and creatives now employed in established dance companies\, musical theatre productions and concert dance shows across the globe.\nDollie is recognised as an active\, passionate\, and forward-thinking voice\, as a consultant and advisor supporting EDI representation within creative arts education and performing arts sector. Her main thrust is in continuing to share her knowledge and expertise to create positive and progressive changes for the jazz art form and creative exponents that hail from the black dance diaspora. In January 2021\, Dollie & Paul initiated Jazz Theatre Arts UK in partnership with One Dance UK to\nshare\, support and serve on behalf of the UK Jazz Arts Community of dance artists\, creatives and practitioners and uphold the correct history\, context\, and legacy of the jazz art form\, whilst advocating for UK Jazz Arts and the next generation of aspiring jazz artists and dancers.\nIn collaboration with her jazz composer husband Paul Jenkins\, Dollie is co-author of the the highly successful book ‘The EssenGal Guide to Jazz Dance’.
